Invitation to Participate in “Children and Youth Online Safety Programme”
With increasing amounts of time spent online, children and youth are at greater risk for online victimization. To provides your children and youth with knowledge of techniques and rules to keep themselves safe online, we are choosing to give your school the opportunity to join this programme. The programme consists of 4 parts: survey, focus group, school talk and individualized school report on study findings. Given the uncertain situation of COVID-19, the whole process can be conducted online if desired with the coordination of the school and the availability of required hardware. Schools and students are our first priority and we will eliminate unnecessary work on behalf of the schools.
It is our honor to invite your school to participate in this program. By joining the study, the University of Hong Kong is offering to arrange an education session on online safety for your students at no cost to you. Once the data have been collected and analyzed, the researchers will provide you with a detailed confidential report of the findings tailored to the characteristics of and risks to students in your school. Youth and children participating in the program will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their online habits. To thank the students who have participated in the survey, they will be provided with cash vouchers and a chance to join the lucky draw. 邀請參與「兒童及青少年網絡安全研究計劃」
為了讓兒童及青年學到有關網上安全的知識技巧及守則，並確保他們上網的安全。我們誠意邀請全港的中小學參與是次計劃。整個計劃大致包括四個部份: 學生問卷、學生焦點小組、學生教育環節及學校報告。鑑於新冠肺炎嚴重，為了更方便學校以及保障學生的健康，我們非常歡迎以其他方式進行計劃。根據以往經驗，在學校的協調及實際條件許可下，整個計劃均可以在網上進行。
我們非常希望能透過本次計劃，幫助到學生、老師及學校行政人員。計劃能一方面向他們提供有關在香港兒童及青少年上網危機的資訊，另一方面亦可令家長、老師及學校行政人員了解保護兒童及青少年免受網上危機的方法。在收集所有數據和分析後，研究員會為 貴校撰寫一份詳細而保密的獨立報告，以便 貴校了解學生的上網習慣和潛在危機。所有學校的個別研究結果將絕對保密。同時，我們會安排一次免費的教育環節予參與學校，而參與的學生將獲得餐飲禮券，以及抽獎機會。
