This course introduces concepts, system and practice of corporate governance for better understanding of social service organization receiving public funding. It emphasizes, under this system, particularly on the leadership of board and senior management/social work professionals for effective service and achievement of mission of the organization. It takes reference to real life cases and issues. It stimulates development of a framework to understand perspectives of different stakeholders and for ongoing application and developing effective intervention.
This course is suitable for candidates who aim to become future leaders in social service organization with management responsibility, from frontline team leader to senior supervisor. Intensive learning opportunities such as individual consultation sessions and/or personal interviews with CEO/top management will be provided to enhance students’ experiential learning throughout the course. It is suitable for candidates who are now serving or plan to serve in social service organizations with management responsibility from frontline team leader to senior supervisor.
