Dr. Pauline WAN is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and has 25 years of experiences in community-based rehabilitation services and mental health care services in Hong Kong. She is specialized in chronic illness rehabilitation, mental health recovery, hypnotherapy, couple counseling and family intervention. She has strong clinical experience with evidence-based practice in individual- and group-based hypnotherapy and psychosomatic syndromes, especially on irritable bowel syndrome. Pauline received her MSS (Social Work) and PhD from The University of Hong Kong. She is also an authorized hypnotherapy instructor since 2005 (completed the advance and master level training by Dr. ZEIG, Jeffery, Director of Milton H. Erickson Foundation). Her research interests include mental health recovery, psychosomatic symptoms and hypnotherapy, family and children with chronic illness, patient empowerment, and service user involvement, collaborative and participatory research as well. In the past 10 years, Pauline has wide experiences in clinical supervision projects on hypnotherapy with integration of family intervention for health care professionals. Apart from teaching, she serves to devote her clinical expertise in the Jockey Club End-of- Life Community Care (JCECC) project. She is currently a voluntary committee member of the Hong Kong Asthma Society to support the development of self help organization.
