Dr. LEUNG Grace Suk Man

Being a social work practitioner, researcher, and educator, I strive to integrate practice, research, and teaching. My interests center on children mental well-being, evidence-based practice, and social work education. Children anxiety is one of my interests. Group interventions were developed for primary school students and kindergarteners with anxiety using gestalt approach, and cognitive-behavioral and attachment-based approaches. Trainings were launched to facilitate social work practitioners in using the group intervention manuals. My other research interests include the exploration of the mechanism in intergenerational transmission of trauma and the needs of children with bereaved siblings. An understanding of these phenomenon is essential in the planning of intervention. The research findings and newly developed intervention models are shared with students as I believe that it is a way to train up competent social workers to serve the needy in our society.
