Joined the Department since 1990 and served as Head from 2007 to 2013 and Associate Dean from 2004 to 2007. Research, publications and media profile focus on parent education, children with special educational needs, children and youth development, drug prevention and family services revamping. With funding from government organizations and private foundations, she has developed many evidence-based parent-child education programs for local Chinese families. She also completed the Family support review of a large scale Jockey Club-funded project for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Examples of her current work include In-depth study on Divorce in Hong Kong, impact study on the Fun to Learn for Young program (FLY) and evaluation of the Healthy Start @ School project. She was awarded the HKU University Teaching Fellow for outstanding teaching, and the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Services. She is a member of the Commission on Children, the Nursing Council, and the Long Term Sentence Review Committee of the Security Bureau. She is the Chairperson of Chinese Baptist Press (international). She was a former member of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Social Welfare Advisory Council, Education Commission, and the Public Libraries Advisory Committee. She is also the advisor of many social services agencies and Christian Organizations.
