Gerontology

This concentration develops students’ competency to work in settings that serve older people, people with disabilities, and their families, including hospital and outpatient clinic, elderly day care center, nursing home, and vocational, educational, planning and advocacy setting and organisation. Practising in this field involves working with individuals, families, groups, and communities on issues such as caregiving, retirement, coping with aging and disabilities, social isolation and depression, death, and/or bereavement.
