有關精神健康與創意研究

研究的主要目的

  • 了解香港人的創意經驗,包括大眾或躁鬱症復元人士
  • 藉此減少社會對精神病復元人士的偏見。同時也希望為精神健康服務提供資料,懂得怎樣支援復元人士發揮能力,追求創意及理想。         

 
參與者需符合以下條件

  • 年齡介乎 1865
  • 能閱讀中文及操流利廣東話
  • 每月會花最少8小時在寫作或繪畫活動
  • A) 醫學診斷為躁鬱症復元人士,或 B) 沒有任何情緒病或精神科醫學診斷人士

 
參加研究需要做什麼?

  • 填寫問卷,包括你的基本資料、對自己的看法、抱負和決策等,需時約 30 分鐘。
  • 電腦上完成一些任務,需時約 1 小時。
  • 研究員亦會用 30 分鐘進行面談,了解你的近況和心情。

 可以獲得什麼?

OBJECTIVES: 1) To better understand creativity in the arts among Chinese people with Bipolar Disorder (BD); 2) The findings will hold the potential to reduce the stigma associated with BD, and inform health workers how to support clients to pursue creative goals without compromising their health.

 

PARTICIPANTS:

  1. Aged between 18 and 65
  2. Ethnic Chinese and/or Cantonese speaker
  3. Currently participating in creative activities (at least 2 hours per week or 8 hours per month in average) related to writing and/or painting 
  4.  A) Assessed by SCID-5 as having BD I or BD II; or B ) no current or history of mood or psychotic disorder

PROCEDURES: Participants will complete a clinical screening for the exclusion criteria and an in-person session on other measures will be conducted at the HKU Campus for data collection. The laboratory procedures can be executed using a laptop connected to a handgrip device.

BENEFITS: Participants will be remunerated with HK$150 supermarket coupons and a bonus of maximum HK$150 in cash according to their performance of the laboratory tasks. Please fill out the online registration if interested (https://forms.gle/V9rQQgfY8to4CR37A).

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION: The research team will only contact the participants who are eligible for the study. Data collected during the online registration will be used for screening purposes only and will be destroyed after the study is completed. Ethical approval was obtained from the HKU Human Research Ethics Committee for Non-Clinical Faculties (EA1901034).
