Dr. Choi W.M. Anna

Senior Lecturer

Dr. Choi Wai-man Anna is a registered Social Worker, an accredited family mediator and approved counselling supervisor (HKPCA) in Hong Kong. As a researcher, practitioner, and educator of social work, she is keen to develop and disseminate up-to-date knowledge on social work, especially on family violence and conflict resolution in interpersonal relationship. Her research fills the knowledge gap on intimate partner violence in Chinese families, particularly on women-to-men violence.

Over the past years, she has provided training for most social workers in the key NGOs on providing service of family violence in Hong Kong. she was also invited to be the service consultant / member of various committees. She has also led several consultancy research projects, including an Evaluation Study of the Pilot Scheme on Children’s Dispute Resolution commissioned by the Judiciary and an Evaluation Study of the Child-Visitation Service commissioned by Po Leung Kuk. Anna had previously worked in various service settings as a frontline social worker and a center-in-charge, she has tremendous experience in handling family conflicts and addressing the needs of families with violence.
