Introduction to behavioral health

The course aims at orientating the students to the arts and science of behavioral health as well as the integrative body-mind-spirit approach in holistic health care. It covers the history, rationale, research, development and policy in behavioral health. Developments in both the East and the West will be briefly reviewed. This course is intended to introduce graduate students to the variety of intervention approaches and techniques in behavioral health. The theoretical framework and clinical efficacy of the approaches will be examined. Implications and practical applications for helping professionals will be deliberated. Assessment: 100% coursework
