Dr. LU K.

Lecturer

As a pracademic, I focus on both academic knowledge and practical impact.

Academic: I am devoted to exploring how sustainable development could be achieved, by a combination of individual altruism, organisational innovation and social transformation. Therefore, my research interests cover nonprofit, social enterprise, ESG, impact investing, and sustainable development. I have published both quantitative and qualitative articles in top journals (Voluntas, IEEE Access, Children and Youth Services Review) and prestigious conferences (Academy of Management, ISTR and ARNOVA Asia).

Practical: I pursue the application of knowledge to create a real-world impact on promoting sustainable development. Therefore, I provide consultancy to INGOs (UNDP, UNICEF) and local nonprofits (CASVI), teach lessons to students and practitioners (at HKU), and publish public articles and reports (in Sina, Caijing and many other channels). I was awarded Forbes 30 Under 30 China List in 2020 for engagement in social entrepreneurship, and in 2021 I founded my own nonprofit, Find Charity, to promote the ecology of philanthropy in China.
